Also available is a life-size bronze St. Andrew, seated at the end of a 4 foot long bronze bench, with a bronze fishing net full of fish draped over his knee. Andrew's hand is extended, so the visitor can sit on the bench with the sculpture and hold the fisherman Saints hand.
Fishing along the sea of Galilee, Christ calls Andrew and his brother Simon Peter to be "fishers of men."
At the time of his martyrdom, tradition has it that St. Andrew was tied to and crucified on an "X" shaped cross, deeming himself unworthy to be crucified on the same "T" shaped cross as Christ.
